Today, February 11, in Vinnytsia City Council was signed a Memorandum between Vinnytsia National Technical University, “Sikorski Challenge Innovative Holding” LLC, Executive Committee of Vinnytsia City Council and municipal enterprise “Vinnytsia Municipal Center of Innovation”. Signing the document will give the opportunity for talented and creative people to express themselves, hear the advice of experts, get inspiration for further research and innovative projects that are important for community and country development.
The memorandum is aimed at working out the tools of interaction between the representatives of university and academic science, local self-government, companies, non-governmental organizations in the innovative development of the city.
“We are definitely in favor of supporting youth and various startups of Vinnytsia. First of all, it is an opportunity for self-realization for those people who have some good ideas. And this will help strengthen the economy, the competitiveness of our community and Ukraine as a whole. I want to thank our Vinnytsia National Technical University for such cooperation. We work on the creation of the Innovation and Technology Park CRYSTAL, and I think that the presence of an innovation cluster will give us an additional impetus to work on innovation. It is important that this is not just a document, but that we continue to work. By the way, I read that we are one of the three cities where it is most comfortable to work in the IT sphere. This is the result of synergy between the universities, government and business”, – said Mayor Serhii Morhunov.
It is expected that due to the cooperation under the Memorandum, the community will receive the qualified specialists who will implement their own competencies in their hometown and create innovative socially useful products needed by the Vinnytsia community.
“Today another page of our cooperation with Vinnytsia City Council opens. This cooperation is quite long and fruitful, we always feel support of the city authorities. The creation of this innovation cluster will contribute to the further development of investments in Vinnytsia. The university has a strong scientific potential, which will definitely be used in the work of this cluster”, – said the rector of Vinnytsia National Technical University Viktor Bilichenko.
The municipal enterprise “Vinnytsia Municipal Center of Innovation” together with Vinnytsia City Council actively work to enable Vinnytsia startups to participate in competitions that promote the development of technological and scientific creativity of our innovators to improve not only their life but also life of the community.
Under the Memorandum, the signatories agreed to hold the competitions of the startup projects in Vinnytsia with the participation of experts and investors / business angels / foundations, including representatives of other countries.
The innovation cluster of the city is an association of institutions involved in the innovative development of the city: the university where the Startup School operates; other educational institutions; scientific institutions; local authorities; non-governmental organizations; large, medium and small enterprises; foundations; banks; Innovative holding Sikorsky Challenge.
